The Keltika Highland Dance Team
Members
P/M Andy Gibbs

Andy is the Keltika Piper, and is a member of the Grade 1 ScottishPower Pipe Band, and Pipe Major of the Kintyre Schools Novice Juvenile Pipe Band. He has been piping for 19yrs and playing for dancing for over 10yrs. Some of his appearances include the BBC Hogmanay Live show, the Royal Variety Performance and most recently on his bands' album "Cathcart". He is married to Kirstine whom he met whilst piping at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in 1998.
Lee Lawson
Lee is Keltika's percussionist, and is currently a member of the Grade 1 Vale of Atholl Pipe Band. She has extensive experience and has performed as a soloist and with bands all around the world. She is drumming instructor in the Kintyre region teaching all levels and abilities and also plays with the Campbeltown Brass band. Keltika are delighted to include Lee as their first ever official percussionist.
Kirstine Gibbs
Kirstine is the group Choreographer and is a qualified Teacher, Judge and Examiner with the Scottish Official Highland Dancing Association (SOHDA). She has been dancing for 19yrs and in that time won many titles and travelled the world performing at festivals and other high profile events.
Fiona Knox

Fiona is a qualified Teacher with the SOHDA and assists her sister at the Jane Knox school of Highland Dance classes in Dunbar, East Lothian. Fiona has also won many titles throughout her competitive dancing career and enjoyed many trips abroad performing at various festivals.
Michelle McMillan

Michelle is also a qualified Teacher with the SOHDA and is the principle teacher at the Daisy MacKenzie School of Highland Dance in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. Michelle has also enjoyed competitive successes and performing at events throughout Europe along with many of the teams dancers.
Lynsey Ward

Lynsey is the fourth member of the Argyll broadsword team. She runs her own classes in Tranent, East Lothian but still manages to compete regularly and has recently qualified as a nurse. Competitively, Lynsey has achieved many trophies and has previously held the title of British Open Professional Champion and juvenile, junior and senior level.
Jennifer Whitehead

Jennifer is one of Kirstine's pupils. She is one of the original members and is 16 years old. Jennifer competes in the very difficult Open group and has performed well in recent competitions. She recently become a champion dancer at the 2006 STDT Choreography Competition, with Keltika Dancers 'Team B'.
Kirsten Donaldson
Kirsten is also a member of the Daisy MacKenzie school and teaches alongside Michelle. She graduated last year with a degree in history and politics. Kirsten has returned to competition fully now after taking a break to travel around Australia.
Megan Ramsay

Megan started dancing at the age of eight and dances in the open competition category. She is being taught by Kirstine and has been part of both Keltika Teams enjoying Choreography success at STDT and SOHDA competitions. This year, Megan will be sitting her Associate teachers exam.
Samantha Blair

Samantha attends lessons with the L, M & C School in Tranent.
Stephanie Bridge

Stephanie
was new to the team last year
and has been dancing since the age of 4.
Over the last 15
years she has won many championships including
British Open Professional
Champion in 2003 and 2004. Dancing has taken her to countries
including
Spain, Germany and Kazakhstan and while studying Business and Languages at
Strathclyde University she still competes extensively throughout the
country.
Katharine Duguid

Katharine is one of the younger members of the team. She attends classes in Dunbar and also assists Jane and Fiona. Katharine experienced her first trip abroad with the team in August.
Fiona Matheson

Fiona attends lessons with the L, M & C School in Tranent.
Victoria McCallum

Victoria is a medical student in Dundee although she still attends the Daisy MacKenzie School and is actively competing. She has successfully gained her associate teaching qualification and is now also a judge.
Stacey McGregor

Stacey has not been dancing long but her achievements to date are outstanding. In individual competition Stacey competes at Open level and has quite a collection of championships to her name. Stacey attends lessons at the Daisy MacKenzie school.
Ashley Muir

Ashley is an Associate teacher with the SOHDA and currently assists within the Jane Knox School in Dunbar.
Louise Pirie

Louise is another Daisy MacKenzie pupil. She dances in the open section. Louise danced in the winning teams that performed at SOHDA and STDT choreography competitions. Louise enjoyed a successful year in Open in 2005 and is now dancing in the adult section. Louise is about to begin at Edinburgh University studying Maths and Statistics.
Kirsten Todd

Kirsten is one of the younger members and attends Michelle's classes along with Louise and Stacey. In competition she dances in open. Kirsten is also now a champion dancer with the Keltika 'Team B' at the 2006 STDT Choreography competition.
