About Us

The Keltika Highland Dance Team

are a professional, talented and creative group of dancers from all around Scotland.

The group was created in early 2005 by Kirstine Gibbs, Michelle McMillan and Fiona Knox, although the team can consist of over 20 dancers including several teachers, examiners and judges.

The more experienced dancers have been dancing together for around 16 years and have combined some of Scotland's finest champion dancers to produce Keltika Dancers. The group display how Highland Dancing can be performed both on the small and large stage with flair, exceptional ability and thorough professionalism.

Over the years they have performed both individually and in groups at events all around the world. Some of these within their own country and others at more exotic locations such as Spain (La Caruna), France (Lorient), India, Taiwan, Italy, Mexico (above with Stockbridge Pipe Band) and even for royalty in Qatar! (see below)

Many of the Keltika Dancers are champions in their own right and have had a very successful year winning several team choreography competitions; from traditional Argyll Broadswords' style dances to their own creations, showing just how versatile they can be. Currently, the the team are the undefeated Scottish Champions for the Argyll Broadswords and winners of the Scottish Traditions of Dance Trust (S.T.D.T) Open Choreography Competition for the second year running.

Keltika Dancers normally perform with their own piper, Andy Gibbs (above) but can also provide other forms of accompaniment such as a ceilidh band, tailoring the music to the event. One of the best groups of its kind, the Keltika Dancers are available to travel worldwide, and are proud to represent themselves and their country wherever they go.
